Crawley respond to Evans departure with Bees win
Substitute Scott Davies completed a second-half fightback for managerless Crawley who extended their unbeaten league run to 10 games with a 2-1 victory at lowly Barnet.
Rocked by the departure of manager Steve Evans to Rotherham hours before kick-off, the Red Devils almost took the lead in the opening minute but Dean Brill turned Billy Clarke's shot around a post.
It was the hosts who made the breakthrough after 15 minutes when Ricky Holmes reacted quickly to Izale McLeod's parried shot to convert from close range.
Holmes should have made it 2-0 10 minutes later after going through one-on-one but Michel Kuipers was equal to his shot. The Crawley goalkeeper again denied Holmes after a poor touch from John Dempster allowed him to get a powerful shot away.
However, Dempster headed home Davies' corner seven minutes after the break to equalise for Crawley before Davies sealed the game just after the hour mark.
The midfielder, on at half-time for Sanchez Watt, hit a stunning 30-yard strike and despite Sergio Torres' late dismissal for a reckless lunge on Clovis Kamdjo they held on for all three points.
