Ready joins the club from Ryman League Aylesbury after a lengthy professional career.
The Welsh international made his name with the Loftus Road club, joining as a trainee and progressing to make over 200 appearances. Ready spent last season helping Aldershot Town to the Conference before switching to the Ducks this season.
The 31-year old goes straight into the squad for the weekend clash with Tiverton Town and could be in line for a debut if Marc Pullan fails to recover from a back injury.
