Newport defender Gary Warren has completed a one-match and could go straight back into the side.
Defender Lee Baker (foot) is again likely to miss out, as is goalkeeper Glyn Thompson.
Crawley Town assistant manager Paul Raynor told BBC Sussex: "It will be a massive test. They've set out their credentials in the early part of this season and are building on what they achieved last season when they romped Blue Square South.
"Dean Holdsworth has done a fantastic job. He's got experience and he's got the club rolling now.
"They're looking to move forward and it will be very difficult. They are a strong, hard-working team who've also got some quality players in there as well. If we're not up to our best then it will be a difficult afternoon."
